Former Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk (Dedham) County.  Former judicial law clerk to Associate Justice Joseph R. Nolan of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.  Co-author of the Massachusetts Practice volume on Federal Civil Practice in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, published by Thomson/West.

Attorney Harrington concentrates his practice on business and employment litigation and criminal defense.

Attorney Harrington gained extensive business litigation experience as an associate at two mid-sized Boston law firms and has represented a wide range of businesses and individuals in varied and complex litigation.  In the last several years, he has represented numerous small companies and individuals in a wide range of business disputes.  He has successfully defended a corporate controller from allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty.  He has successfully defended commercial tenants from breach of contract and personal injury claims, as well as claims arising under federal law.  He has represented contractors in breach of contract actions and in defense of personal injury claims.  Also, the Massachusetts Superior Court appointed Attorney Harrington to be the receiver of a corporation such that he could pursue claims against corporate insiders for breach of fiduciary duty relating to their mismanagement of the company.

He also has defended and pursued claims in the employment law context.  In federal and state court and before the MCAD, he has successfully defended employers against discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful termination claims.  He also has represented employees in wrongful termination and discrimination claims against their former employers.

Attorney Harrington also devotes a significant amount of his practice to defending criminal matters, either at the pre-trial and trial stage, and on appeal.  As a prosecutor, he tried numerous cases before a jury and a judge.  He has also drafted numerous appellate briefs and argued numerous times before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Appeals Court.  In private practice, he has represented numerous criminal defendants in District Court, as well as on appeal.

Attorney Harrington also devotes a limited amount of his practice to non-litigation work, such as negotiating and drafting asset purchase agreements, purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, and employee non-compete agreements.
